What is Radon?
Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas, that you can not see, smell or taste. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon comes from the natural (radioactive) breakdown of uranium in soil and water and gets into the air you breathe. Outdoors, radon is diluted in the open air, but indoors, it is trapped and becomes concentrated in enclosed and poorly ventilated spaces.
Why should I test for Radon?
Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk. The EPA recommends testing all homes below the 3rd floor for radon. Testing is inexpensive and easy. Radon reduction systems work and some can reduce radon levels in your home by up to 99%. https://www.epa.gov/radon
